Our electric boat rental base in Vertou

The 2026 season opens on Saturday, April 4!

Our Ruban Vert electric boat rental base is located at La Chaussée des Moines in Vertou, in front of the Gautron mill. A former water-powered flour mill, then a foundry, a municipal slaughterhouse, and later a ceramics and pottery workshop, the building is now an exhibition venue.

In the middle of a lush green landscape, the Sèvre nantaise is calm and intimate here—ideal for a close encounter with nature.

How to get there?
By car: Located 15 minutes by car from Nantes city centre, access is via the vineyard road or the ring road, exit 47 Porte de Vertou.
By public transport: Tram line 3 towards Neustrie to the 8 Mai stop, then take bus 97 towards Vertou to the Parc de la Sèvre stop; or take the Busway towards Porte de Vertou, get off at the terminus, then take bus 28 towards Vertou to the Viviers stop.
By bike: Allow around 25 minutes from central Nantes to reach our watersports base in Vertou.

Lunch on the Sèvre nantaise

Before or after your cruise, enjoy a lunch break in the restaurants along the Quai de la Chaussée des Moines, opposite our base.

The route

Discover the banks of La Chaussée des Moines by boat!

The site of La Chaussée des Moines is a remarkable place. It is the work of the monks of Saint-Martin Abbey in Vertou, who built a ford there in the 11th century, allowing people to cross the two banks of the Sèvre nantaise without getting their feet wet. The aim was to make the Sèvre nantaise navigable and to install a water mill there. This is where your journey begins.

During your trip, you will pass through wild, intimate nature frequented by anglers and encounter local wildlife. Departing from our Vertou base, set off to discover the treasures of the Sèvre nantaise:

  • La Chaussée des Moines: this historic causeway is your starting point.
  • A little further on your right, directly opposite the Vertou racecourse, is La Frémoire, an estate and château overlooking the Sèvre.
  • Continuing your outing, you pass through the typical Vertou district of Portillon.
  • At the junction with the Maine, heading to starboard and just a few metres away, you can discover Château du Coing. To port, head towards La Cantrie and La Haie-Fouassière.
  • You will need some additional cruising time to reach this vineyard town, which takes its name from its culinary speciality: fouace!
  • You can cruise as far as Port-Domino in the municipality of Monnières, the end of the navigable Sèvre.
