What can you expect to see when cruising along the Erdre? While everyone knows the famous Loire châteaux, the Erdre has nothing to be ashamed of, as it was described by Francis I as “the most beautiful river in France”. Here, you will discover numerous châteaux dating back several centuries:
• First, the Château de l’Eraudière: a 16th-century summer residence of the bishops of Nantes and a stopover for seminarians; the façade visible from the Erdre dates from the 18th century.
• Next, the Château de la Desnerie: listed as a historic monument since 1985, written records of this Sesmaisons family property date back to 1371!
• Then, the park and Château de la Chantrerie: a relaxation spot much loved by the people of Nantes, this former large agricultural estate belonged to the Blon, Lévesque, Normand and Drouin families. It has belonged to the City of Nantes since 1972. Its park, opened to the public in 1979, partly hosts the Veterinary School. Many other buildings have been listed as historic monuments since 1997: the villa, the pavilions, part of the park, the chapel and the orangery.
• Then, the Château de la Gascherie: a private château dating from the 15th century and restored in the 19th; its park of around 100 hectares played a historic role during the German occupation by hosting several bunkers.
• And finally, the Château de Nay and La Couronnerie: separated by the Erdre and a forest and facing each other, the first dates from the 19th century and has a dovecote, a chapel and a private tower.

Located north of Nantes, the Mazerolles plain is full of treasures. It is part of the Erdre marshes and is therefore ideal to explore by boat to appreciate all its beauty. Our quiet electric boats will allow you to cruise in complete peace without disturbing the residents of this marshland.
Stretching over 3 kilometres and 1 kilometre wide, the Mazerolles plain lies on a migratory route. This favourable area makes it a prime refuge for many species throughout the year. Among them are no fewer than 3,000 teals, mallards, shovelers, pochards, tufted ducks, as well as waders such as snipes and lapwings. In total, around sixty species coexist in the Mazerolles plain.
This active wildlife thrives at the heart of a very rich ecosystem. During your boat discovery of the Mazerolles plain, you will be able to admire flourishing flora with more than 200 plant species, including 11 protected ones, and sphagnum bogs that shelter many insect species essential to this natural balance.
